Wind Scale Registered High Intensity Winds By Hurricane Irene

East coast of the United States registered the first hurricane the Atlantic season, with winds having the intensity if 175km/hr on the wind scale. Due to this hurricane six states on the eastern coast were on high alert.
The national hurricane centre in Miami stated that the hurricane that struck the eastern coast, namely Irene, is a category two type hurricane on the saffire simpson hurricane wind scale. Irene is the first hurricane of the Atlantic season of 2011, which starts in June and ends in November.
Irene was produced on August 19th and swept over Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Dominic republic, killing four people in the dominion republic. Due to the hurricane many trees were disrupted and power transmission lines were cut off due to the strong winds.
