What is website scaling
When building a website the vast majority of 'regular' users get a cheap domain name and the cheapest hosting we could afford. We want our website to be successful and bring in lots of traffic, but we have not considered this in the basic hosting we have purchased.
Scaling a website means making sure you have enough resources to deal with your traffic and applications. If you don't scale, in this case buy hosting with an optimum size of storage, then people will not be able to have access to your site. You will get crashes and end up losing the traffic you worked so hard to get.
In the same way, if you run a special offer that includes registration or an electronic download, if you haven't allowed for a surge in traffic you can crash the server.
